by Julia aka firemajic

Your lascivious stare
strips me naked
revealing secrets hidden
under my jeans

I see myself in the narrowness
of your gaze
diminishing my worth
destroying womanly confidence

My breasts feel heavy
legs awkwardly weak
feet rooted in humiliation
I avert blind eyes

My curves are a commodity
devoured and dismissed
value assessed
by the swell of my ass

Julia (aka firemajic) is one of the pillars of WF. She is a mentor’s mentor, an advocate and source of encouragement to beginning and struggling poets of all stripes. Her poetry is simply a joy to read.
